Default Ballooning Spiders

Every time I go out for a ride, I come back covered with spiders and spider webs. I thought WTF? Well, the front page story in the local news paper was about the huge amount of ballooning spiders here in Oklahoma. Seems that the unusually wet year we've had is the source of the problem. Any else notice this?

Do all the locals sit on tuffets? Switch to another chair and I bet they won't sit down beside you.
Also, try snacking on something besides curds and whey. I heard spiders don't care for hot wings and pizza. That may ease the problem.

Man I just craked up.
I live in Pa in a wooded area and man it's starting to get cold at night.
We have those big fricken wood spiders that run for the door when you open it.
I fight the buggers with a shovel. Well that's a little much but man they are big and nasty.
They are fast and smart. I smash um as soon as I see them around the doors.

We've got those here too, but fiddle backs are the main problem as far as bites are concerned around here. I bet I kill six or so a week inside the house. Here's what a fiddle back bite can look like.

I had a black widow living in the battery cover of my bike. I kept finding webs and couldn't find the spider at first. I figure she rode about 2,000 with me (including going to Colorado and back) before I found her and offed her. I am SO lucky that I wasn't bitten.
