Default HD Rental from Eaglerider- Need opinions

Originally posted this in the"New members" area by mistake. Need some opinions from anyone who has rented from Eaglerider before.

Planning on booking a rental in Miami in February and riding down to Keywest. Eaglerider seems to be the logical choice. Anything I should be aware ofwhen renting a bike? I need to check with my insurance company (Progressive) to see if I'm covered through my policy or not.

Did any ofyouhaveissues that you were not happy with through Eaglerider? How were they to rent from? Are their bikes in good shape?

There website shows they use 2007 bikes, and I'm looking to rent an Electra Glide.

Thanks [/blockquote]

I have never rented a bike but, I do know one of the service techs at the Atlanta Eagleriders. The bikes are kept on a strict maintenance schedule and they do have some 08's, so that part is good.

Don't know about Miami, but Eagle Rider of Las Vegas was great!

The only thing that I didnt care for was the 5k theycharged my credit cardwhen I didn't buy the "Eagle Rider" insurance.

In the the end....it was all good.

I'm planning on doing it again.

Rented from them to ride the TN. and NC. roads. Pickedthem up in Knoxville. I had a 2006 Fatboy and my buddy was given a 2007 RK Custom with less than 1000 miles on it. My bike had about 15,000 on it and before we left the staff there went over the bikes with a fine tooth comb. Every mark was noted. The FB came with these tiny throwover saddlebags. Too small to hold a jacket. Had to throw most of my stuff in other guys bags. Rent a bike that comes with factory bags or you may get something really small to deal with. Bikes worked fine, were in good or excellent shapeand we had a great time.

The Eagle Rider bikes are generally all in great condition and have rather low milage. Do check with your insurance company.

Well, I have a lot of experience with them. I had rented quite a few bikes from them, before buying my bike. They were all pleasant experiences. The bikes were in good working order, and looked good. I had no isssues with them, at all. The deposit is a drag, but I can understand them wanting to protect their investment. Make sure that you look over the bike really good. Have someone else with you do the same thing. 4 eyes are better than 2. Note every scratch, rub, dent , or whatever. In all of my cases, I was never hasseled about scratches, but it is better to be protected. I even came back once with some burnt rubber from the OL boots, no problem. My insurance covered me, so I didn't buy theirs, but, if it hadn't I see no problem with using theirs. They sure want you to, as it is almost always total profit, but that is up to you. Have fun with the ride, and get a touring bike, for the cargo space, IMO.
