Thought Danner boots made in USA?

Thought Danner boots made in USA?
I was in a work boot store looking for boots and they had Danner boots for $200. I look inside and it says Danner boots made in China. I thought these are made in US? They were the black military looking boot, nice boots but made in China. Is this something new? Check the stores and see for yourself. This was a top of the line boot store in a mall, so I didn't get them. Got the Chippawa Rally boots which were also $200 but they matched the internet price.

My Tan Marine Corps Gore-Tex Danner boots have a made in the USA label inside them. I love my Danners. The best boot I have ever bought.

I have 2 pair of Danner Rain Forest (best boot ever) and a pair of Danner Arcadias for warmer riding. Both made in Portland, Oregon. Some people just will not pay 200 to 275 for a pair of boots, so Danner does have some lower end made in China. I will never buy the China boots, but it will not stop me from buying Danners.
Last week I was in Portland and stopped by the Danner outlet store and bought another pair of Arcadias for $144.00 factory seconds. I was like a kid in a candy store there.

I too thought they were all American made. I just checked my pair, and sure enough, "made in China". Damn!, but, I did buy them about 4 yrs ago, and they are still good boots. I wear them a lot when riding......Oh, I bought 'em at "G.I. Joes",.....go figure!

Just checked my Acadias and they are American. I will keep that in mind for my next Danner purchase though.

Purchased my first pair of Danner Ft. Lewis boots 15yrs ago. They have had 2 sets of soles put on, and due for a third. These boots are great. Waterproof, and best of all, broke-in. Paid about $175 for them new, now they are about $200-$225. 15yrs in the same pair of boots, talk about quality and value.
