Buying a Harley

Buying a Harley
This will be my first Harley, Planning on a Road King, and also planning on purchasing in the spring, which brings me to my question. Does anyone have an opinion on when the best time of year is to buy for the best deal, either dealer or private?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, the best time and deal will be buying a prior year "new" model between July and through winter if you can find one. The '08s are out and pricey. If you can find an '07 you like, you can get smokin deals this time of year. If you wait till spring and want an '08 your gonna pay full price.

dog155 is right. I have bought 2 bikes during "prime time" and got great deals form motivated sellers. It's just a matter of patience, if you want it today, you're going to pay.

My experience...whether it's a computer....LCD TV........
Bikes or Cars...........almost any BIG ticket item.
You wait and wait , until the above mentioned things are gone.
Then another item comes your way and you think , if I don't buy it NOW......
it will also be gone! So you wait a few days trying to decide and then you can't
take it any LONGER!!! You have to have whatever it is you are shopping for!
I can't wait til Christmas day! I WANT IT!!!!
So you sign on the dotted line....and you are happy as a clam. You have what you wanted! YAY!
Sure as all get-out...........it will be cheaper the next month.
So.....either buy it now and enjoy it. Or wait until next month (when it may be gone)
Chuck. (thinks of the sign I saw in a bar "Free beer tomorrow")

Late winter, early spring.I went out with my buddy in Febuary or Marchwho bought a new bike(06) and got a good deal. But you'll need to go to a few dealers to check their inventory on the 07.

RE: Buying a Harley
so...an unsold '07 next July....the price jumps because it isn't winter?
Five years from now...an unsold '07 in July will cost what? Triple? Half? Same as now?
I have never understod vehicle and house prices.
I go to Winn Dixie for eggs.......X ammount they cost. I pay. Beer costs X ammount. I pay.
Car....X ammoutn...I offer J ammount....they counter with Y ammount. OK...I buy.
House......They want 250,000........I offer 200,000.....they say 225,000 and I buy.
Just tell me the frigging price already. (You buy the house for 225000, and right away you are thinking "I should have offered $220,000")
