Default Road Glides?

I am considering buying either a 2003 or an 2005 FLTRI. The difference is 16,000 miles and $3,500.
2003is from the Original Owner, 2005 is from a Dealer.
Any information as to any changes in the model years, or any known issues, etc.
Or just general comments or baggers Road Glide vs Street Glide vs Electras would be helpful.
Thanks your input is valued.

The only issue I know of with them is that awful fairing. Other than that they are a sweet ride. I have never ridden one, but my friend at work had one and he said it was more stable at highway speed than his Electra Glide. I just cant get past the looks of the fairing.

You missed the bike behind the RG in the 2nd picture. That`s the one to buy.....
I like the black one better then the blue. I would buy from a private party before I would a dealer. Dealers have a tendency to rip everyone off. JMO
The 05 has no improvements over the 03, so buy the bike you like. The 03 would be a better deal to me.

Beauty is on the eye of the beholder. I know you put the differences in the 2, but what is the mileage and cost of each individually? That's the tale of the tapes. Post more info on each of the bikes and check the NADA Guides and Kelly Blue Book before amking a decision on either one.

I tell ya, it took a while for the roadglide looks to grow on me... but after having owned mine for almost a year now (nov 06), I think its the best bike hd makes and will prolly replace this one with another one if/when the time comes.

I know a lot of people can't get past the looks of the fairing, which is just fine with me, makes it easier to find in a parking lot at Daytona, Myrtle Beach, wherever !

Why does the bike from the dealer have the non hard bags? They look ugly IMO.
The black one looks like it has a reach seat, have you sat on it?The seat will move you forward by about 3".
You just have to decide what color you want,pricing,warranties,etc-.
They are good handling bikes, you cant go wrong.

Thanks, Guys
The black one has 24K miles @ $12.5k
The blue onehas 5k @ $15k + dealer $$$ approx $17

I know the fairing doesn't get high marks for asethics but for function many believe it's the best.
I don't mind taking the alternate road away from mainstream thinking. I own an 84 landcruiser that many think is ugly,
but functually is superior to all street 4x4's. I haven't seen many RG's in my area, which is perfect for me as I don't care to see people on the same model, color, etc as I ride. It's not a popularity contest for me. I'll be 50 next year and riding the slammed LowRider is not comfortable for long rides. 35 years of softball has taken it's toll on my neck and back.
The dealer has offered an $8.5-9K est on my 2001 FXDL which sweetens the deal on the Blue Goose.
I need to ride one to get a seat of the pants feel, I know it won't be as nibble as the Lowrider though.
I would like to Ride to Stugis next year and that won't happen with the Lowrider. Still haven't ruled out any other touring HD.
Thanks again, & ride safe
