Lubing clutch cable ?
Okay, I got some dri slide. It says nothing about lubing the clutch cable in the manual where it talks about adjusting the clutch cable. But it does say to inspect and lube as necessary in the maintanance schedule. Do you just squirt some cable lube into the cableat the top by the lever or what? Thanks...

Yep same here, only i loosened the adjuster all the way apart and lubed from top down, then a shot or two where the adjuster split towards tranny. I use Rem Oil but i reckon you have the real deal.

I was going to buy some Dri Slide at the one of the dealers that I live near here in Phoenix, but they both sell Inox now instead of Dri Slide and told me that's what their service people use. So I bought some of that. Below is a link that I found helpful on how to service and adjust several different items on your bike including the cables.

RE: Lubing clutch cable ?
Hello again Anubisss,
I have done it the way navycheif and mkultra does it. The last time I did it like this.
1. Loosened the cable adjuster enough for slack on the lever.
2. Removed the snap ring that holds the lever pin in the control and removed the pin.
3.Removed the lever and cable together and used a string tied to the ceiling of my shop and tied it to my lever at an angle away from my bike so I would not get any on the paint or chrome. Leaving the cable at an angle so the lube will flow down the cable.
4. Squirted the dri-slide in to the cable sheath very slowly.
5. Reinstalled. Smoother operation and the cable will last longer.
Ohh by the way. While I had my lever off, I cleaned all the grime off the lever and control where the lever goes and used powdered graphite to lube it and the pin. Still love those cool apehangers you got there.
Great link oldfart. I saved it as a favorite.

RE: Lubing clutch cable ?
The way I lube my cable it also also flush and replace with new lube.
Remove the cable from the brake lever and frame clamp and lay it on the ground, next add oil to the gearbox so the level is higher than the cable entry so the oil will now run down the cable and out the other end thus removing all the crap that worked it's way into the cable and replaced with fresh oil. Remove excess oil from gearbox and refit cable.

Great idea Roadtrain thanks.
Next time I change my tranny oil. I will do that before I even drain it. Excellent way to flush the cable. It still amazes me the technology we have today to communicate with some one so far away in a matter of seconds.
