Would you buy a rental ?

RE: Would you buy a rental ?
My first H-D was a 2003 Fatboy that the local dealer had rented out during the season. it had alll of 3500 miles on it, and I got a good deal at 14,900 Check to see what other parts they added. Mine came with the Windshield, engine Gaurd, Saddlebags, passenger backrest and more. All of those parts add to the cost, and make the bike more user friendly.
I kept that bike for 3 years, put over 35,000 mile on her, and never did anything but tires, brakes and oil changes. When I traded it in for my Ultra, I still got 12,f00 for her, cause she looked so clean, and was so well cared for.
Yeah, it can be iffy, but if you trust your dealer, it could be the best deal you ever made.

RE: Would you buy a rental ?
I would bet ya have some room to negotiate a lower price. At the very least have them throw in an extended warranty. I don't think it would scare me that it was a rental. If it was exactly the bike I really wanted, and the price was right.

thanks for all the advice. Now if I can find some one to take KBB for one! You can see why I asked for help with this one . I would for sure get the extended warnt. Looking on al web sites I can find , nobody is selling 07 or 05 Road Glidesfor that matter for less then $14,000- What they are worth and what they sell for have always been 2 diffrent things with an H D .

RE: Would you buy a rental ?
Well, I rented a few bikes beforeI got mine. I didn't abuse a single one. And, I am sure i am not alone on this. However, the break in of an engine is important, and that is something that is unknown, in your case.

Not for that kinda money... you know its been put thro hell, especially If I rented it
ORIGINAL: triple buzz
I have a line on a 2007 road glide rental from my dealer. 7200 miles for $14,700. Price is right and the miles don't bother me . what I feel bad about is 45-50 diffrent riders put those miles there. that is a lot of trips to red line and bounces off the rev limiter. My question to the members is would youbuy it ? Would you sleep good thinking about after you bought it ? The price is too good to just say no ,and they gave me a good offer on my trade. Thanks
