Okay -I need a new Battery Tender - Harley wants 70 bucks plus another $7.00 for the quick harness - Now tell me which one I really want please!

 

Deltran makes the "Deltran Battery Tender Jr." for about half that price and comes with a bunch of wiring.

 

Just stumbled upon a great battery charge/ tender. Bought one for my cars and bikes. It's called a Battery Minder Plus. It is a unique type charger that is safe for all 12 volt batteries regardless of type. It uses a special feature to disolve sulphation in the battery, which is the number one cause of failure. It's fully automatic, and guaranteed to never overcharge a battery regardless of how long it is left on. Pretty neat deal, priced for under 50 bucks. Good investment for your car !!! Used for airplane batteries as well. Charger/maintainer/conditioner all in one unit. I'm not involved with this product at all so this isn't a commercial, I just bought one for myself and wanted to share the info. You can find them on the net. Do a search for Battery Minder Plus.

 

I use an Optimate- about 30 pounds sterling in the UK. Very relaible and plugs directly into the tender connection that HD have fitted.

I think they are sold in the US too.

You can get a tender for about half of what Harley wants. I've got 3 of 'em. Two battery companions and 1 battery tender. About $30.00 at Wal-Mart. With all of the wires.

I have 1 of Harley's version and 2 of the the battery tenders, they both work great but I think Harleys is just a rebadged Battery Tender. both came with the harness needed to quickly connect and disconnect .

 

I bought a re-badged Harley battery tender at the local dealership for $34. They did have a more expensive model, but what would I need THAT one for? Works great, BTW.

Battery Tender Jr. is all you need and they run about $39.00 all day long.
I bought a Battery Minder for a little more money, about $45.00, and it does more than the Battery Tender Jr.
Both chargers come with all hook-ups, and will plug into each other with no problems.
I stopped at the Battery Warehouse and the guy showed me the differences between the two. He said the Harley version is actually made by Deltran, the company that makes the Battery Tender. You will pay more because it has the Harley logo on it.
Punch up Battery Tender on eBay and you will be suprised to see how many are being sold and for about $39.00 or less.
