if I'm in a wreck, or otherwise injured,I'd prefer to be administered to by a physician than a fireman. Well, that is, unless I'm on fire.
Could you be a little more clear, do you mean administered to by a physician after you make it or are toted to a hospital ER, assuming you make it there alive.

Or, do you mean administered to by a physician on the side of the road, or in a ditch, or wherever else you were otherwise injured, when all he has with him is a cell phone?

Either way your future would be grim.

if I'm injured, I'd rather be administered to by a physician, in any shape, form, fashion, in any event, in any state, state of mind, or state of duress.

On the other hand, if my truck catches fire, I'd rather have a fireman that a physician.

Makes sense to me.

I hope that our fellow biker survived this crash and is already on the mend.

I respect your opinion, and I'm sure it does make sense to you, it is my hope that you never have to go to war.

This was the reason for my original post TonyVT, I was trying to follow up as best I could to see if any forum members may have knew who it was and send best wishes. Thanks for your post and concern.

I just can't leave this one alone.

What moron would not want someone with medical training to assist in a on-site vehicle accident injury?

I seriously doubt that most accident victims have a big choice of medical professionals immediately following the event.

I know the last time I needed medical assistance after an accident, I had many choices.

First a dentist showed up, then a registered nurse, then a general physician, then aER nurse, then orthopedic surgeon, then an off duty fireman, then a veterinarian, a farmer that inoculated his own cattle, and three hookers that had just whipped syphilis with over the counter medication.

I asked them all for their resumes, insulted their professions as a whole and individually, and called my wife to see if she could use the Internet to verify the education of my final selection.

Actually, I was very thankful that a nursing student from the local college stopped and helped.

He did not panic, stopped some minor bleeding, prevented others from moving me which would have made it worst, and kept me calm while help arrived.

I don't know what this DraumaKing does for a living, but I going to guess: nothing too complicated.

I hope he's ok as well but I'd like to let everyone here know that if I'm in an accident I don't care who you are or what you do, you are more than welcome to help me in any way possible but first get the bike out of the road before someone else hits it!

You would be guessing wrong. and I think it's a good thing you only had minor bleeding.
