I prefer the lockable hard bags. That's the only reason I chose the standard over the classic. It's cheaper to change the tires to WWW on the standard than buy hard bags for the classic.

Just to throw in something a little bit different. You said you liked the look of the badge on the RKC gas tank. I have a 2008 RKC in Crimson Red Sunglo. It does NOT have the badge, it has the sticker. I know the website shows a badge, but it didn't come that way. The only other 2008 RKC that I have seen down at the dealer also had the sticker instead.

Either way ya go, you will love the Road King!

Parrothead - you menationed you have an 08 RKC without the new "large" badge. What "decal"does your bike have? The one found on a Road King Standard? Can you post a picture of it?

I'm looking at gettoig an 08 RKC, but I personally think the new 08 badge is rather large.

I bought a used 01 Road King with the fiberglass bags but I wanted the leather ones. I like the look of leather and the wide whitewalls and the wire spoke wheels a very classic look.

I prefer the FLHRI RK Standard with the hard bags which are sealed and lockable. I think they actually look better to me on the RK then the leather and look they good all the time with very little care unlike the leather ones. But that's JMHO for what it's worth.
