Default Rode Southern Switzerland and Northern Italy

Last weekend I had a chance to rent a Softail Custom and ride Southern Switzerland and Northern Italy. I was in Switzerland on business and had saturday free before a groupof customers arrived from the US via Milan.

One of my colleauges and I decided to rent bikes and ride. He rented an MV Agusta F41000R as he is a sport bike guy and rides a Ducatti at home. We had a blast. The weather was perfect and the scenery could not have been better.

We rode through Lugano Switzerland, Locarno, Losone, Ascona into Italy, through Verbania and around Lake Maggiore to Como, Bellagio and returned the bike in Manno, Switzerland.

Here are a few pics.

I am on the left, mybuddy from the US on the right (Don) and in the middle is a freind of ours from the factory in Losone, Switzerland. We stopped by his home in Rivera, Switzerland, his name is Michele.

Aldra - next time I will have to look you up, it would be great to ride with someone who knows the area. We stuck to main roads so we did not get lost. We wanted to ride up to the damn in Valley Versasca but missed the turn so we headed to Italy.

Great Idea. There are a lot of small roads which have not so much traffic and a very nice landscape. But alos in Italy ther is a lot of nice places. I took the road back from Austria this year through the mountains called Dolomiten. These went up until almost 9000feet.

City traffic is what makes me nervous in Europe. I can barely drive a car over there :P But I wouldn't mind riding country roads/autobons on the duc

I understand. But it is just a case of habits. I take my bike every day to go to work to downtown Zuerich, because of the traffic. It takes me 30min to get there. By car it takes me more than 1 hour.

Nice trip, I go to the UK all the time but wont drive or ride a bike there yet as they drive on the wrong side of the road. Too much opportunity for a head on. Used to live in Germany no problem riding the continent.
