Default CHROME CONTROLS

I WANT TO CHANGE MY CONTROL BOTTONS TO CHROME ON MY 05 ROAD KING CLASSIC AND HAVE HEARD THAT THE CHROME DOES NOT HOLDED UP TO WELL. HAS ANY ONE HAD THIS PROBLEM? I ALREADY HAVE DONE THE SWITCH HOUSINGS & BREAK / CLUTCH CONTROLS, AND I KNOW WHAT A PAIN IT IS TO CHANGE THEM OUT. I DON’T WANT TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT WORK AND HAVE TO PUT THE BLACK BOTTONS BACK.

I put some on my bike in August, so far they are o-k and the ones on my friends bike are holding up o-k after three years. Yes they are a little difficult to install, but they sure look good.

Mine have been on about two years and they look fine. Putting them on was not a big deal, just be real careful not to pinch any wires between the switch housing and handlebars. If you do, you better have a few spare fuses laying around.

I just had a chat wth my dealer about changing my controls to all chrome when my bike comes in. He said that the buttons were troublesome in the past, but Harley has fixed the problem..

Never heard of that problem but I'm willing to take that chance.

No probs at all...did mine in about 20 minutes and they are fine (like the chrome on black look and get a lot of compliemnts on it).

Takes a lkttle easy touch and pressing the buttons on, but no big deal, really.

I put on the chrome housings and left the buttons black. Nice contrast.

I agree, I really like the look of the chrome switch housing witht he black buttons. Looks great with the new contour chrome and rubber grips.

Have had the switch housings and button covers for about 10 months, so far everything is holding up well. One piece of advice is to keep the clear plastic cover on the switch caps while you're changing them over they do scratch easily.

This is what I did. They were on a Deuce for five years before trading it, and they still looked when I said goodbye.
