For a friend, I would (and have). A stranger, its not my problem. If someone were mercilessly beatinga strangerwho was obviously not capable of defending themselves, maybe. Depends on the situation.

 

It doesn't work like that in the Greek world.

I don't tend to butt in on other people's actions unless I know the particulars. A person being a motorcyclist has nothing to do with nothing. What could look like an innocent person being wrongly abused just might be a child molester caught in the act by relatives. I'll call the cops and let them sort it out. If it's a guy beating up on a woman or a child, that's a different story.

That is how I conduct myselfoff the clock. In my professional life, I get paid very well to butt in on other people's business. I protect child molesters, rapists and all other miscreants without prejudice. My personal feelings don't affect my professional conduct.

 

I never let a friend stand alone, right or wrong. We'll deal with the fact that I had to get involved at a later time. But I would not just jump in because someone was riding a Harley, are you kidding. I don't think, I would let a group of people kick the crap out of someone, but I sure wouldn't drive accross town to be involved.
