Road King Or Street Glide?

Road King Or Street Glide?
Which do you prefer and why?
I personally prefer the Street Glide, but the Road King is extremely charming and pure.
Maybe for long distances the Street Glide offers better wind protection.
Regarding the saddle bags, are they big enough to store dresses for a weekend?

From what I've heardhere the RK is more comfy/better for longer rides since the SG has a bit stiffer ride. Don't know first hand, never rode a SG. Just passing on unfounded internet gossip.....

Seriously you might get a better response over in the Touring forum. Lots of opinions to be had over there. Speaking from experience and have had owned both, I would say the wind and bug deflection on the SG is a big bonus. Trade off is the more harsh ride due to the lower suspension. Best thing you can do is ride both and then see which one fits your needs, style and comfort the best. Don't rule out the EG either.

I like my RKC and will not be riding a street glide anytime soon. The RK's seem to be more old school, yet offer an excellent touring machine.

The differences in the SG and RK that matter to me are the passenger pegs instead of floorboards, no cruise control (or at least at that time), and mag wheels instead of spokes (yes, I know you can get them but mostSG's on the showroom floor have mags for some reason).
The Pro's to the SG are the hard bags, fairing, lower stance and overallHot Rod lookwhich I like. I have been slowly converting my RK to look likethe SG(already put hard bags on it and am looking for a deal on a fairing). I plan to lower it and chrome my lowers this winter and slide in a 110" kit to overcome it's shortcomings.
I had buyers remorse for a while after getting my RK, thinking I should have gotten the SG but I'm over that now.
If the SG is the look you are after it's cheaper to start out with one and add things like floorboards to it. If you are bent over the harsh two-up ride then the SG is not for you. there just isnt enough travel to smooth it out.

I have an '06 Road King Standard with hard bags and have had the pleasure of riding a stree glide for a week and the only difference I could tell was the stereo and the windshield was to small and allowed alot of wind noise that I dont experience on my King so my vote would be for the Road King with a detachable tour pack for extra storage for them dresses

I am of course biased....But I think with the SG you get a real good looking hot rod bagger that does most things well. I ride two up some of the time and I think the ride is smoother with my Ole Lady on the back....But that has everything to do with the Air pressure in the shocks I have not messed with. You also get Tunes with the SG that you would not get with a RK. Both are bitchin bikes but I obviously prefer the SG. Either way I think you would be hard pressed not to like either one of them.
