Thanks for all the responce people, I didn't specify when I started this thread, Just to see the answers. I've always parked mine in gear As I'm afraid it will roll on gravel parking lots. It's been a habit of mine for 30+ years of riding. The main reason for my question is that, I had been off bikes for a couple of years the bought my first HD about 3 years ago. I'm on my 2nd now. Upon buying the first I took the riding course Riders Edge at HD and during the course they were insistent that we park the bikes in neutral. and it was aginst the grain for me to do so. Again thanks! ride safe!

Neutral for me....or 5th...or reverse. One of those three.

I always park in gear and when I go to start it I put it in neutral and pull in the clutch, since I don't trust my neutral light.

Always in first gear. Start in neutral with clutch in. Garage or not. I always do the same thing.

I prefer leaving it in neutral, but if on a hill I will put it in gear. I have forgotten to take it out of gear or pull the clutch to start at times...gotta do the whole "look at the engine like it's the bike's fault" to play it off, but I still look like an idiot.

I park in neutral , don't park on hills if I have any other option ! Just out of curiosity , why were the Riders Edge instructors insistant that bikes be parked in neutral ?
