RE: Parking question
I do now, after cheap Chinese stand snapped, dropping bike on its side! I figure the weight might have shifted a fraction and over stressed the stand. Now if I could just remember to put it in neutral BEFORE I start it up...

on my first day bringing mine to my school, i got outside after and found some punk sitting on it and rolling it backwards becuase i left it in neutral, i almost beat the crap out of him, but i remembered when i did that to a harley i saw once as well.
now i leave it in gear, no one at my school rides or knows how to change gears, so if they get on they cant roll it away.

Always in gear.
As someone else already has asked, why neutral? Why do those of you who leave it in neutral do so?

As far as not having a parking brake goes, why would it need one? It's got a friggin' anchor hangin' off the left side called a jiffy stand.

How many of you park your bikes in gear, particularly on slanted parking lots or gravel ?

When the kickstand is locked you can slide the bike across the ground as long as it does not raise up enough to release the lock. This I have seen happen. Fat Bob, acutally rotated on the kickstand as the bumper hit the tire.
That guy did get the crap beat out of him. He was trying to light a cig while backing up.

RE: Parking question
In neutral because that's what I've always done. [sm=confused06.gif]I guessit comes from how itwas taught in my first MSF class back in '93, reinforced in '03 and '04 (MSF/Rider's Edge.) If it's inclined enough that it looks like that it might slide on the jiffy, I'll park it in gear.
