RE: RUB or not?
"People are too quick to judge. I liked what Peter Fonda had to sy at the end of Wild Hogs when he was talking about the real posers."
What was it Peter said?

RE: RUB or not?
Guess it depends onwhether your worked your whole life to be successful or if you worked your whole life to be accepted by a group of people wearing assless leather chaps reminiscing aboutthe day when the general public thought they were "badasses" for looking the part.

Having been poor is no shame, but being ashamed of it, is.

Why am I called a RUB? I have owned a HD bike since 2000. First bike was a 2000 1200 custom. Currently own a 2004 Fatboy and a 2007 Street Glide. My family has always been a HD family. Dad had a 61 FLH duoglide that some of you helped me identify here. My brothe has had a couple of Sportsters and now owns a 2005 fatboy.
thanks

SO, you have a insecurity problem? Who really care what people call you..Do you worry about it?? I been around all kinds of motorcycle riders all my life, sometimes it is sort of sick to listen to some yaa-hoo talk about his 4 other bikes and the matching his and hers SUVs after a while I just look at them and tell them, who gives a crap, only you do..I never judge a rider by the cut of his clothes, or the motorcycle he rides, what I'm really interested in, is he a good guy, will he stand with you, hell lotsa of guys nowdays work 60-70 hours a week, can't get much riding in with them kind of hours, I just hope they live long enough to get to ride as much as they want to..I don't know many RUBs, but the few I do seem ok, course I don't get invited to their Hollyween party, but as guys out on the road, they seem ok, as long as they don't look down on me I could care less..and as for owning bikes, I have two, 99FLHT and a 06FXD, bought and paid for, I own my own little house, just big enough for wife and I to retire in, drive a old 02 Ranger, living on S/S and a small Pension, and a disabilty pension from the service, Rich?? not in money, but I sure am in fun and pleasure..could I have been rich, Maybe, if I would have applied myself, but having fun was more important, after caring for my wife and 4 kids..guess I would be a FLUB "Fun Loving Urban Biker" or what ever else one cares to call me and I have been called many, many things in my life.. No Grashopper, go forth and enjoy what you have, and stop worrying about it..PM me when the Hollyween party begins.
