Removed heel shifter...Floorboards are much bigger now...
I have been swayed back to the light. The dark side is fading. I just took the first spin since doing so and was wondering how to upshift without my shifter... I do have a question regarding this. How do I remove the spline for the heelshifter? I am not sure if I like this yet, we will see...

Can't remove the spline I don't think. At least not easily, but they do make a cap for it. The heel shifter is the first thing I removed from the Road King. I believe the cap is something like 20.00

Not sure on your bike Anubisss, but I removed the heel shifter the day I received my Street Glide, I'm fine without it. I haven't added anythingyet to cover up the extra space on the shifter yoke.

Not sure you can remove the spline. I've considered getting a set of extended shift levers from Walters Workshop, and here aspline cover ...

It is funny to see all of you removing your heal shifter. I can't go without mine. Since I am required to wear steel toed boots at work the toe of my boots will not fit under the toe shifter so I had to learn to use the heal shifter. After a week or so it was second nature. I like mine but I understand you guys not liking yours, if it wasn't for the work boots I would have removed mine also.

I have the HD cap that you can have Anubisss. It's in pretty good shape with just a small nick in the plastic chrome, but it's on the bottom so you won't see it. I don't use it anymore as I have moved my shifter all the way out to the end of the spline and covered the spline with a piece of rubber so's I could accomodate for the bigger gas tank and not having to pigeon toe shift the thing.

Anubisss, I just did this recently. The Walters Workshop (19 dollars) and the MotoCo's (12.95) are basically
the same size, but the latter (which I went with) has a scorn (circle indentation) on it. I went for the MotoCo's
cause it matches there bolt cover caps (as far as design) which I have a few. I just purchased some chrome
controls from Walters (extended shifter and rear brake pedal) which I should have tomorrow. I will report on the quality
of there chroming in case you and the other poster want to go that route.

I have to have my boots shined at work so up-shifting with the toe is a bad idea. I just got a set of the Mark IV foot pegs/rests that attach to the floorboards. Now I have the best of both worlds. At least, until I scrape the boards down to nothing...then it will be forward controls.
