I like the look of a clean bike with as minimal items as possible. I do have a bag on my forks, I think with that and a backpag I am golden. If I don't I can always go back since I will never sell the bags for long trips.

Thanks for your input, I will post a before and after

Haven't ridden with a back pack yet but if I needed to I would, or tie it to the backrest, don't really care what others think. Don't like bags on a Sporty. DP

I rode with a backpack every day to work to carry my lunch until I got a luggage rack and a sissybar mountedbarrel bag.

I ride to work with my backpack because my computer would get too banged up in saddlebags, and I also put my lunch on my rack. I don't care what it looks like because I don't ride to be seen, I ride to get to work in the most enjoyable way possible.

Guys with purses (saddlebags)on their bikes say riding with a backpack looks stupid ????Just kidding of course....well sort of.

Anyway, I use a backpack sometimes, most of the time it is when I carry my laptop or have the need to carry what I need when I get off the bike. I have had up to abbout 35 pounds in one, I must admit that was not a lot of fun and at the time I was wishing I had some purses on my bike. Usually it is camo of one sort or another, does that make it any "cooler" to you guys?

I prefer the clean bike look as well, but I do have a detachable sissy bar with a luggage rack that I put on for long trips so that I can mount my t-bag.
