I did the whole backpack thing with my first sporty. Sometimes, you just have to take things with you. I didn't really want to have any extra bags or a cage on the bike so I put up with my backpack. This time around, I will settle for a fork bag and whatever doesn't fit.. gets let behind.

To backpack or not to backpack..... it really doesn't matter and its personal preference. If I saw you with a backpack... I probably wouldn't notice. I'd be too busy eyeballin' your bike. But that's just me. Happy Riding!

If your still in college, the backpack is fine. If not, stick with the saddlebags....IMHO anyways....

Backpacks are forcrotch rocketriders. That's where they carry their organ donor cards.

My 05 Wide Glide has a short sissy bar behind the pillion. I keep a small roll back over the bar, resting on the pillion for around town. For longer trips, I put a T-Bag over the sissy bar and the roll bag on top of that. Works great.

Saddle bags + 2 t-bags for me on a long trip. Short trip somewtimes saddle bags, sometimes t-bag. According to how the mood strikes me. But never a back pack.

I say go ahead and clean up the bike and get a nice solo seat. Carry necessities in your high school backpack and your passenger on your shoulders. Passenger should face to the rear if of a different sex than you. But that is your choice. Freedom of choice you know.

No bags here. So when I need to haul something like lunch or drink I throw on the backpack. Only way unless I want to stick it down my pants orin my jacket. A1/5 works much better in the pack than down my pants.[8D]

I refuse to wear a backpack on a bike.... never mind on a Harley! I will use my old *****&max throw overs or a shoulder bag before a backpack

I don't really like the look of saddle bags. For some bikes, they look alright, just don't want them on mine right now. Maybe in the future. I ride with a backpack going to and from work or just running to the grocery store for a couple of small items.
