Fake kick starter? Don't laugh, I did think about mounting a kick starter on the frame with a spring loaded toggle switch. As you pushed down on the kick starter it would close the contact on the toggle switch. Thought about it for about 30 seconds.... then decided it might be a good time to stop sniffing glue .

Joking aside, I miss not having a kick starter.

I always figured an electric starter was just something else to go wrong.

Do you have a foot clutch?

Foot clutch? Yes, you can't see it in the picture, but I converted the front gear shifter in to a clutch pedal. Notice there is no longer a clutch handle on the handlebar. Pulling away in first gear is the tricky part, once I get the bike rolling, it's a blast. Lately, I have been taking off in second gear, it is alot smoother. I have had the suicide clutch on about 2 weeks now. I still manage to kill the motor about once/trip.

Did you make that suicide shift? It is awesome. I have a rk custom and have been dying to get me one. If you bought it, where from? And, if you made it, how about making me one? Seriously. Drop me a pm and we can talk about it. What I really want is a tank shift, and I want to mount the clutch to the shifter, instead of foot clutch. With the weight of a touring bike, and the fact that I ride 2 up, I want to be able to keep both feet down at a stop. Any thoughts on how this can be done? I have found suicide kits for touring bikes, but they all have foot clutches, and the shifter is back under the left leg, attached directly to the trans. Help. I NEED one. LOL

That Deluxe is crazy! Probably the most original/best looking I have seen. Great job!

PapaTravis, yes I did convert the front shift lever to a foot clutch. I used the horn/ top motor mount as the pivot point for the tank shifter. The only way that I can think of where you can keep both the hand clutch and the tank shift, is to mount the clutch lever to the tank shifter lever itself. Accutronics makes a set up to do this, but it would probably be just as easy to modify the existing clutch lever mount. Hope this helps.
