Default Need help fitting new rear fender

Howdy folks! I hope everyone is stuffed with turkey right about now!

I am going to replace my fiber glass fat bob style rear fender with a smaller, half-sized fender. My bike is built on a pro-one frame, with a wide tire kit which supports a 180 rear tire. Currently, I am running a 160 tire. Take a look at the fender from JP cycles I want to buy.....it will bolt on directly to the frame, however, the ignition control module is in the way.

Do any of you have any suggestions as to how I can install the fender with the control module? Should I cut out a section of the fender frame to fit them better?
