I too am interested in this helmet and have concerns over the size. I have a local dealer that does not have any in stock. I have looked at the photo gallery and it seems a little odd that all the pics are taken with the people looking at an angle. I really would like to see a couple where they were facing forward. Could any of the members here that own that helmet post a pic with of themself with the helmet on to really see the difference?

Wow, looks like we have enough mushroom heads around here to start our own club. Should we get patches sewn of The Great Gazoo and call ourselves the 'Shroom-head ground pounders?

Of all the people that have responded, I'm most interested in hearing back from Chadriggs once he receives his helmet. Perhaps he can post a pic. But, if not, Chad, at least tell us what you think and how it fits as compared to the size chart vs. how your head measured.

Wife an I both have one from ACC... they are good as it gets for a half helmet I think. If you mention HDForums they will give you a discount also if you call and order. Here is a pic with the helmets from last weekend in Skyline Drive...

I'm expecting delivery today, maybe tomorrow. I, too, am a Shroom-Headed Ground Pounder! As soon as it gets here, I'll take comparison pics with my regular half DOT, my half novelty, and the carbon fiber half and post them here.

Chad, in your first post you said it takes 6 weeks to get one. Is that for an off the shelf one or a custom made helmet?

Also, I assume the DOT helmets from them have a sticker or are inscribed as such somewhere on the helmet? Can someone confirm that? My take on the NC law is, once they get straight what's approved and what isn't, enforcement will strictly be looking for DOT approved markings on the outside and inside of the helmets.

The DOT lids come with a sticker on the outside at the back, and a tag on the inside. I have a flat black one, and it's the lightest/smallest DOT lid I've ever seen. Plus ACC is a great company to deal with. If you go with them, mention HDF when you order. I'm not sure if it's still on, but they had a 10% off deal for members here.

Cheers!
