My dealer told me previously, that "color" stuff, ie: fenders, etc. take a minimum of six weeks for delivery.

That is probably contributing greatly to your delay in repairs.

I also was rearended several years ago...new rear fender, new rear tire, etc. I live in a small town.....no dealer nearby, so I told the insurance company I did not want to haul bike up to dealer and leave it for however long so I asked them if they'd pay me to fix it and ...to my surprise..they said "Sure". They paid for the parts and paid me wages from the Flat-Rate manual. I was much happier that way.

Waited 6 weeks for painted parts? why not just ship primer and have local body shop paint them? Can this be done? Sure Dupont sells the paint to match it.

First of all.....I'm glad you're OK!

When I went down on Memorial day there was $4,700 damage to the bike. My dealer threw on a new tire and new handle bars to get me riding again and then I waited a few weeks for the tank, pipes, etc to come in...then I brought it back to be finished.

and the gal that hit ya. Has she finished shining the bike up, cleaning your house, mowing the yard, bringing beer and sandwiches during the NFL game?

My dad uses Dupont paints at his shop and their color system has every Harley formula. I mixed my white gold pearl and the cobalt blue to match both our helmets to the bike and they matched perfectly (as expected).

I wouldnt wait for factory colored tins ifI were in your boat right now......

I'm new to San Antonio but already have been told that if you go to Alamo HD you will wait forever. Caliente HD on 410 or Alamos sister dealership I can't remember the name but it is on 10 almost to Boerne. I've been told both are very quick for service. M.
