king:

I just helped a buddy put on a set of Kuryakyn ISO Grips, and the glue that's included with them is the gel-type "super" glue. Loctite has it available at most hardware stores.

Be sureto remove any old glue, and take some emery cloth/mild sandpaper and rough up the surface. Just remember to put a good coat of glue near the bar end, and once you start pushing the grip on DO NOT stop until it's in the final position! This glue sets up super fast.

I used super glue and was gonna twist my Iso grip to smear the glue. By the time I pushed it on there was no twisting it. It was stuck where it was by the time it bottomed out.

So what do ya do if you got the grip glued on in the wrong position? I put som Kuryakyn ISO grips on mine recently and did not get the left grip positioned right. The rubber part doesn't line up with my palm like it should. I just figure it's stuck there for a very long time.

Been told you can take a long skinny screwdriver and push it under the grip. You might mess it up and have to buy new rubbers for the grip or git a new set of grips. I got the same thing, I'm waiting till I git my new ape bars on.

I have never used grip glue in over 25 years on HD, sportbikes, quad and dirt bikes. You should be able to use a little bit of carb cleaner to get the surface clean, wipe it off the bars and then apply it on the inside of the grip and the bars, slide on, position it and let dry. WHen using glue, you have a major mess to clean up when you change grips again and you have hardly any time to position them.

hair spray
I've heard Hairspray many times. I think that is what I seen the mechanic use,but when you ride down the road and the grip comes off in yer hand you kinda pucker and want something real strong. ? Scared !
I will glue mine on and if it needs taking off we can cut it off.
