Glad it all worked to your satisfaction. It never ceases to amaze me the stories of shops that do work without authorization. This is service advisor 101-Communication!! In my store, if work was done without authorization and the advisor couldn't get authorization, it was free to the client.
On another note, fuel quality issues are much more common than many here realize. We have the cheapest fuel in the world and there is a reason for it. In Europe, I'm told, the fuel companies are held directly liable for any drivability issue a vehicle may have that is fuel related. Hence, the fuel is much cleaner.
