Default Battery tender question

I am looking for a battery tender and was hoping for help.

Is there a particular brand that is best, or will any 12volt at Walmart work?

Am I correct in saying that you hook up a connector to the terminals and it stores for easy access to plug in eliminating the need to remove the seat?

Thank you for any help.

Use a battery tender specifically made for motorcycle or small batteries. they come with a lead for connecting to the battery permanently where you just plug the charger into the bike and a lead with clips. On seats with the split for a back rest, is a good location to run the connector from the battery. Seats without, you have to find a good place to hide the connector when not using. Seen a few where the connector hangs above the tranny cover.

I use a $20 Black and Decker I got at Wally World and it works just fine. Has the connectors you can hook permanently to the battery that plug into the tender.

Deltran Battery Tender Plus. You can pick them up for about $45 on-line. They come with a connector that you permenantly mount on the battery for quick connect without always having to remove the seat. Be careful of cheap knockoffs as they can fry your battery without the proper electronic controls.

Deltran pioneered this field and, IMHO, offers the best product for a reasonable price.

Do not waste your money on the HD versions. They are just relabeled and overpriced Deltran units.

I have used the Battery Tender for years. I had one go south, in the last year of a 5 year warranty. It cost me $6 to ship it back to the manufacturer, and I promptly forgot about it, as I had a couple more.

Couple weeks later, I received a brand new one, with a ten year warranty.

That's how all companies should operate.

Good choice, and with their 10 year warranty you really can't go wrong. As others here have said, they really are a great company to deal with and stand behind their product 100%.
