Vanson leather....cheap looking

RE: Vanson leather....cheap looking
Own Vanson and H-D leather. The Vanson's is high quality. Leather so thick, wind is almost a non-issue. Very protective. Will note this however... the thick leather can make it a less comfortable, more stiffjacket, and H-D's jacket are more comfortable to me.
BTW, read the other day Vanson's is in Chapter 11.

I've worn Schott bomber jackets for years, my newest and current one is 12 years old. It weighs a ton and wears like iron

The stuff you were looking at were most likely the track bred stuff. It is tough because it is meant to save your ***. They have other skins and mattes that they use. Vanson is hands down one of the best, if not the best, leather companies out there. I have 3 of their jackets. Owned one for over 10 years. It saved my *** twice and I still wear it.

It's funny when people say how good a leather jacket is when they haven't been down in it. Sure, a jacket may last and the leather may "hold up" through some rainstorms and heavy "use" throughout the years. But, when yourtorso hits the ground and you start sliding, then you'll know if it's a good jacket or not. Now, I haven't been unfortunately enough to test my leather either . . but I've read some really good things about how Vanson jackets have saved some people's skins and were still able to be worn again and again. Not sure about Fox Creek - I have heard that they are high quality, but haven't heard any testimonials as to their protective qualities.

I used the first Jacket from Fox Creek as a test crash jacket. I got one of my friends really drunk anddragged him behind the the bike for a mile with the jacket on. Jacket held up great. My old friend, not so well.........

Thanks for the insight. I myself right now have a Wilson leather jacket. Good quality but it just doesn't fit me right, sleeves are to big at the wrist and cold air just blasts in. I just bought a FXRG jacket off of e-bay for $200 less what you can get it for at a dealership. I just couldn't find anything else out there that had all the features that the FXRG had. I was also looking for something to ride with in cold weather with, from the one's I've tried on and what I've read about it the FXRG really seems warm. Plus it's just a really good looking jacket.
