Hey, thought this might be interesting to get responses. Im planning a Sturgis trip next year. I have never been there and am going with another guy that has only been there one time.
Is there any particular places that are "off limits" or any areas that the gangs take over when they come to town?
I watched "The Wild One" and now I am scared!
Now, dont get me wrong, I am not looking for trouble. Just want to avoid any throwdowns if you know what I mean.
Thanks

I see that you are from MO so this may not be a problem for you if you have visited your sister state of OK. Just be aware that there are a lot of Indians around Sturgis.

Had to laugh like hell at some of the responses! I did deserve a few though. Flame the new guy, thats OK.... I was just kidding about the "Wild One", just a colorful metaphor. No, Really.....
I have heard stories and they are probably just that, stories.
Daytona, huh?, been there, but not during bike week. Dont have any problems with Indians either, actually have a fair amount of Choctaw blood in me, wait, that might cause trouble up there with the Sioux!
Also, since Im new, what the hell is a Troll?
Taking my licks as the new guy <-----------

Do we dare tell this dude about "No Panties" day in Huelett?
Seriously, you'll see patch wearers often around the Hills. Don't do anything dumb like try and take their picture, sit on their bikes, or talk to their property (girls) and you'll probably live through the week.

RE: Trouble in Sturgis???
Forget Daytona. Sturgis beats Daytona all to hell. Great riding in the Black Hills and the Lakota Souix will welcome you on a temporary basis, Choctaw man. Visit the Crazy Horse monument and Wounded Knee. Don't worry about the previously mentioned "hard core bikers". Everybody at Sturgis is having a good time. It will be a tripthat you will be glad you experienced. Wait a minute. Didn't you already miss Sturgis? Oh Jeez, don't tell me you are worrying a year in advance. Man, you are going to be a nervous wreck and a shell of yourself by next August. OK. Go ahead and go to Daytona in the meantime. If you have the time you can go farther south and visit Siminole country. Why are you so interested in Indians? Oh, right.
