Good instincts to stay tucked in and let the engine guard and peg take the hit. I'm glad you're ok.

I’ve almost done the same thing a couple of times on my Softail on this road going into it a little too hot.😳 Being a lighter bike, it wouldn’t take much.

Glad you’re incident wasn’t worse!

Glad you're OK. I picked up my Indian on Saturday, and almost did the same thing turning a corner right by my place. I was lightly accelerating through the turn and I felt the rear tire break traction and slid out a bit. I caught it in time but was bewildered as to how it happened. I wrote it off as a brand new bike with only 9 miles on the tires not gripping properly as they aren't broken in. I think the pavement is glass smooth from wear right there, adding to the problem.

Taking a spill once every 15 years? Not too shabby. You’re in the clear until 2039 now. 😉

Glad you came out better than the bike!

It was just so strange. I've slid out, endoed, and highsided in MX, flipped doing wheelies, but this was just a leisurely ride, nothing stupid. YES it can happen to any of us at any time.
Heavy ****'s ain't they ?

Good to hear things went light on you.
