When you buy a new tire without a center rib or groove, find out where the "wear bars" are on the tire tread before you put some miles on it.

Looks like it has plenty of life left. Why not take it to the drag strip and make a couple of runs?

Sorry , But if the manufacturers of the motorcycle tires want me to pay attention to the wear bars they will definitely have to put another 1/8 of an inch of rubber on the center rear tire . So I can average at least 15,000 out of a rear .

I wouldn't leave my driveway on that tire. I have had a tire go down at speed and it's not a fun ride.

+1
Years ago, I lost the rear tire on my old rigid Triumph chopper while on the freeway.
It was beyond a pucker moment that I'm in no hurry to repeat.

Are people looking at the first pic when they say it's shot and wouldn't leave the driveway?

I'm pretty sure this one has to be a joke. For a bunch of guys who will spend north of $25-$30K on a Harley, yet will try to get 1,000 more miles out of a $250 tire cracks me up. Lol

Next thread is "I went down is this bike salvageable"
