The carbon fiber helemt that is DOT from www.carbonfiberhelemts.com is great. It doesn't pull on your head at freeway speeds and is extremely comfortable. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new helmet. Well worth the dough. I also have a full face for long trips. Arai is my preferred full face brand and I have the rx7rr4. Very light and not too noisy.

I live in Oregon, helmet required state. Got pulled over for a taillight out once and the cop didn't say a word about the novelty helmet. Not sure how much they accually care here.

I hear some places where the cops are like vultures, waiting on the side lines to bust motorcycle riders. Then you hear others say they never ever get pulled over or harassed. Weird.

I don't live in a helmet required state, and refuse to ride in a helmet required state.

That's too bad,... youre missing out on some awesome roads, scenary, and folk. I live in BC where we have helmet laws -but the LEOs don't ticket you if you're wearing a novelty lid (in the cities they're getting more concerned with noise ratings instead), in Albeta your lid better be DOT or equivilant approved, not sure about east of there.

I live in Massachusetts. Helmet required state. I half two helmets. one novelty and one dot. both are half style helmets - The DOT I wear I use for colder days as it has ear "flaps" to keepthe ears from falling off on those cold spring / autumn days. I hate this helmet for long rides beacuse of how large and heavy it is. The novelty helmet is what I wear non dot during the summer months. I never had a prblem with LEO's Then again I don't give them any reason to pull me over either. My last bike before my RK I ran cycle shack drags staight shots loud as hell. Went through town nice and easy past local PD no problem. My policy is ride safe - ride smart don't be stupid LEO's shouldn't bother you. (unless of course the happen to have a hair across their AZZ that day).

Just my opinion.

Yes helmet required state, wear a novelty helmet only, never been pulled over. I do keep a dot half helmet in my saddlebag just in case though.
