Default battery tender question

so, ive got an hd tender that plugs into my ultra limiteds included battery charger and it does its thing. last week i unplugged it and plugged in my goldwing that has an added charger. the charger didnt acknowledge that it had been plugged into the bike. is this normal and i need to buy a new charger for the wing? or is the charger taking a crap? i feel like the charger shouldnt care which bike its plugged into.

thanks!

Check the polarity of the charge wiring leads. Just a thought between brands.

Is this a question for a Honda Gold Wing forum?

As long as the charger is compatible with the type of battery it will work. I suspect the wing is wired differently, has a blown fuse or a bad connection somewhere. The battery isn't completely dead is it?

ill check when i get home, i didnt even think of that. ive had the battery unhooked in the wing but i thought i put it back together right. seems like the most plausible scenario. thanks.

its just got the standard leads that come with every tender ive seen and theyre both lead acid batteries. as was suggested i need to make sure the terminals arent reversed.

If the charger sees 0 voltage , for whatever reason, it wont try to charge. Also, what is "an added charger"?

the harley has the charger thats integral to the wiring harness the wing has 2 leads coming off the battery that were added after it was built. the wing really isnt relevant, just that its another lead acid battery that isnt run through hds integrated pigtail.
