I have this buddy. He’s super super ****. He’s married to a hot wife, he’s very stylistic, and dresses sharp. He represents himself well and is a manager in an IT firm. He gets into motorcycling. A group meet up at Starbucks to go for a ride that day. We’re already sitting inside and we watch him leave his helmet on, walk all the way into Starbucks, order coffee, then come over and sit next to us with his helmets still on.
most of my friends, I’ll bust their chops and we tease each other. This guy, not so much. He doesn’t really take it well or understand. We kind of looked at each other, and we left him alone. He finally got his coffee and took his helmet off. I waited till later in the day when it was just the two of us walking into a brewery. I asked him why he left his helmet on when we went to Starbucks and he said it’s too much trouble to take it on and off constantly, I don’t like all the gear. so maybe he’s just lazy.

I never like the half helmets. I have mostly worn full helmets or full face helmets. My Shoei RJ Platinum has what I feel is a good level of protection yet still open face. I also have an Arai Rejent helmet for bad weather days. I choose the helmet based on the weather forecast and my judgement.

I wear a modular helmet 100% of my riding time. I've occasionally thought about flipping the chin bar up and walking into a convenience store to **** or get a drink, but it just feels odd wearing the helmet in somewhere, almost like I'd be wearing a ski mask into the store or something. Not something you want to do.
It's simple to remove a helmet, why not do it? Loosen chin strap, pull helmet off, set helmet on bike... Put helmet on, tighten chin strap… Apparently, I'm not too worried about the helmet growing legs.

I just hate wearing the damn things, so any opportunity to get out of it, I take it.
