If it was between the dealership and the insurance, I would think I'd be without a bike for the remainder of the summer and the dealer would get paid directly. Doing it all on my own, I can just order parts and get paid for the labor, and only replace what I need to. For example, the exhaust the outer primary. The outer primary damage is hard to see unless you're on your hands and knees. Take those two together and I'm nearly 60% of the exhaust I want. I'm also going to a local guy who apparently is a wizard with motorcycles. He might be able to repair and paint the current plastics. That's another huge savings. In short, I'm trying to play the game so I come out ahead.
