True, but a water pump with less than 24k mile fails. Plus all the threads about this, when they were new. This is why, harley motorcycle will do better when the graybeards are gone. Profits, I can't say.
My brand new bike failed days before my vacation, it was 3 weeks old. It is just a harley thing. We are the research and development department.
Since it is paid for I'll fix the known problem.

2015 was known for water pump failure. No excuse just a fact. Some failed a very low miles. While not everyone failed many did. The soldered connection were failing.
This issue was pretty well known. And seemed to have been solved once HD ran out of the stock they had and new version came in.

There is a bulletin from Harley to use up single lip tranny shifter seals before going to double lip. They don't care about customers.
They know most people don't ride much, so they build bikes for them. And will most likely fail after 3 year warranty
As far as not needing a water pump, somehow japs managed to figure out how to sell a water pump decades ago.
Could you image if goldwing pumps failed at 15k miles?

It's 9 years old. Stop being a whiner. Easy fix.
Even by a Rounder.
PS..Use the appropriate hose clamps on plastic pluming. You need a even 360 force. So you may need the clamp tool..
Stainless Steel Worm screw clamps just cause issues.

Shop and get a tool and the correct clamps. Picture just for reference..

As much I like updating parts with non Harley parts, I don't like odd ball parts for something this important.

So your going to let the mother ship buy it from the same China man, double the price and sale it?
But I agree, $400 is good assurance, especially if you travel. Local, two Chin man parts will out live the bike.
And it's not like if your local where you can take it easy getting home.

$511 got it for $450. $20 for coolant. Should have bought auto coolant, but I wanted this done right away. I'll research what coolant to use for next flush.
