I call him the "cut and paste" Journalist...He recycles old news in new packaging and adds some irrelevant photos. I get the impression that he doesn't even ride motorcycles. Today, Journalism is more about volume than content.

Having dealt with increasingly stringent EPA exhaust emission regulations on diesels for years, I watched as they went after minor sources of emissions like outboards, lawn mowers, and..........motorcycles.
As an owner of all of them, I see this as EPA trying to keep their jobs after outliving their initial mission. The news here isn't that it "has been illegal for years", it is that they have begun enforcement. They just finished crackdowns on diesel delete tuners. They went so far as trying to force older engine retro-emission regulations.
They want pristine air as if humans didn't exist. Never mind wildfire smoke overriding any such miniscule reductions.
Oy!

I was standing in my front yard last week and a old EVO passed the house and a few seconds later I got a slight whiff, of unburned gas in his exhaust, what a wonderful smell that was and normal 30 years ago but with new bikes and cars, not as much...
These Doctors going after the Harley dealers stinks!
I have a neighbor that burns his trash in his backyard right next to his fence that puts it not 15' from my house, He burns plastic milk jugs and bread bags and fills my house with toxic plastic smoke. Yea I talked to him and its better but he just hides it and does it a 3 am but the City / County will not do anything.
I somewhat remember the smog of big cities in the 70's and no thats not okay but leave my exhaust on my motorcycle alone!

The EPA is a reflection of the current political party in charge. That organization does things to promote the current party that hires the leadership.
The rights of nature has been a thing for many years. Part of that premise of natures rights would be that rivers, mountains and trees can sue and have a legal standing in court.
Seems that are using that argument about nature rights as well as the EPA regulations.
Natures rights has been making progress around the world.
