Glad you got some closure. If the frame is nit bent, are you able to buy it back from the insurance company or salvage company? Looks like it’s repairable. But…. If you really want a new model then it’s money towards it.

When they totaled I used half the money to fix the bike and bought another with the other half. My Sportster has a restored salvage title.

I understand price where you live and here are different. But 28K for a 2014 . Take the cash and wave good by to the the.
No idea how salvage bikes are handled where you are but here branded title is a auto 50% discount off lowest value no madder how well it is fixed up.

Here Labor is what totals a bike. Shop rates $125 to 200 an hour adds up fast. Also the way they figure the labor you often pay twice for same work.
Parts have gone way up.

Good luck with your new ride when you are ready.

28k seems like a lot of money, I guess it is the difference between the countries. The question is what will a new bike cost?

But he is taking the bus cause he doesn't want to ride a bike without ride assist. So no point keeping it.

They sold my Sportster back to me for a grand and the engine was worth more than that, I did the work myself.

I agree, pocket the money. Get new paint job, something custom, get some parts you always wanted, have better bike. I bent my engine guard back into the brake, got another off ebay for $75. But he doesn't want to ride a bike without ride assist, is the moral of the story.

You'd never know mine was totaled unless I told you, it's a good bike with plenty of years left in it.

I have several friends that bought back their "totaled" bikes, used swap meets and eBay to find replacement parts, and put together a reliable bike.

I'm not interested in trying to resurrect the wreck - I'm gonna put the payout money towards a new bike.
