Harley Receives DoE Grant for Ebikes
#2
I went to another site and looked this up so I may have interpreted it wrong.
Harley will not come up with anything....
This is part of the Inflation Reduction Act targeting at risk or closed manufacturing sites. It will bring new jobs to the area and designed to expand existing facilities. "Harley-Davidson, Wisconsin’s iconic motorcycle maker, will receive an $89 million grant to expand a manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania for electric motorcycle production."
They also get money to supplement transportation (for employees I gather), day care and mental wellbeing.
Senator Casey said that the demand for electric vehicles is growing stronger! per the article (which is the fed press release)
The "live wire" is also mentioned in the article. So it really did not matter if the Live Wire failed miserably when they get that amount of our money to continue.
Make of it what you will. I realize that is my opinion regarding the Live Wire and it means nothing.
They already did satisfy the criteria to get a grant and I cannot blame them for taking advantage of government programs. This impacts the York facility.
They are ok with being called a "at risk" or "closed" manufacturing site I guess.

Weird so much misinformation… I could sware I recently just read a article I thought was legit, saying Harley just did or is going to, completely shutdown Live-Wire due to loosing money? So much fake news out there now… I guess I’m gullible.

I do not blame them from a business sense....
The info I read was for the DoE and its press release regarding the grant so it is straight from the "source"....

I'm not a fan of government subsidized businesses, especially this green sector bullshit. A good business model is to make good products with a reasonable price that there's a demand for, and the business will thrive. The consumer makes the decision, not the government with the subsidies.
