Driveing my car like my bike

Driveing my car like my bike
I have been in my area working for the last 20 years. In that time, I have always ridden the bike once or twice a week to work, and then ride in my off time also. Well, this summer I have been on the bike everyday since early spring and take the bike to work every day. So, yesterday, I finally get the car out of the garage, decide to take it to work and I noticed that I was actually starting to go for lane position! Also, you know how when you ride a particular road alot, you get to know where all the bumps and dips are that you want to avoid the next time. I know this road well and caught myself trying to avoid those spots even though it doesn't matter in my car. Talk about mental conditioning. I had to chuckle to myself and tell myself to relax a little.
Anyone else ever experience this?

Yes. All I have for transportation right now is the bike, so I ride it everywhere, every day, all weather. As you said, you learn the bad places in the road and what to watch out for. When i'm in a cage with someone else and they're going down the road and there's a place in the road that I know hurts real bad on the bike..I pucker up tighter than Fort Knox. Then we hit it, and you barely feel it...

I know what you mean. A few blocks from the house is an area that is rough and I've learned where to ride it on the bike and in the car I start to adjust for the smooth area.

You become so accustomed to defensive riding on your motorcycle that you become a much better, more attentive driver of a cage as well. The habit carries over.
