I'm just curious at how steep of a grade at which you should not do this I guess.
It's quite a hill, definitely breathing heavy to get to the top of it just 1 block up.
If your bike starts to slide on the kickstand it's to steep.

I agree with everything that's been said. Also a little common sense goes a long way.

I am alway suspicious of those who expect common sense. They are obviously very smart and just forget when they learned common sense.

Or their just confused and think common sense is the same as heredity

There is a security device I seen, can google it, that you clamp on the front brake. It won’t hurt anything. Extra piece of mind. Can be a cheap **** like myself and use Velcro as already suggested. No issues on an incline to park and leave in gear, as noted by those in the know. The crazy talk of rolling backwards or sliding over on kickstand is just that. Pay no mind.

Well, if you must insist on whatever your calling common sense, I don't think we all have a equal share. ?? .

As one traveler that has been around a while, I have used more and more of what I have learned.

At my age, when one starts living on borrowed time, you need to listen to what you are calling common sense.

And maybe I have listened to more then some who didn't get this far.

Whatever you want to call it, a lot of people don't use it.

Just for peace of mind, park it nose first like you described. Leave it in first gear. Then try something as a wheel chock about 3-inches behind the tire. NOT touching the tire yet. See if the bike rolls back to touch it.

Oh yeah, something substantial that's not easily moved.
Or use a wheel chock all the time on that hill.

With my Ural and sidecar rig, It can sometimes roll back even in first gear,

My 6.8 - cents.
