This Forum is about Harley Davidson

Much as I would like it to be about Harley, it often isn't, like when you get posts about removing tanker spill residue from your car. I flag these posts so that they can be moved, but most often they aren't. Result is a poorly moderated forum with a bunch of off topic crap.

My opinion does not matter, but I totally agree with the OP.
Every model of Harley-Davidson had its limitations and drawbacks. But they also had their utility.
It has been that way since 1903.
I absolutely admire the knucklehead, but it has limitations and flaws. But in its day, it was the best. Those who lust after a knucklehead, ride them, and restore them, do not ultimately get rid of them because they cannot cruise at 120 mph.
The panhead was/is an iconic series of models. In its day, it ruled the motorcycle world. But it has its limitations and flaws. Those who lust after a panhead, ride them, and restore them, do not ultimately get rid of them because they cannot cruise at 143 mph.
Same with the shovels. evos, twinkies, M8.
Most usually, if a person asks questions about improving the performance and power of his bike, he does not have unreasonable expectations of what can be achieved with his Harley-Davidson. He accepts those limitations because of a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
And for some fellow to suggest that he get another brand of bike is not helpful but is a "put down" of Harley-Davidson.
If a person starts a thread asking what brand of motorcycle should he get because he wants to go 150 mph then the suggestion of other brands would be entirely appropriate.

I use my tool kits to do routine work on my bikes. This was I know I have the correct tools should I need them. Rarely do I need any tools for repairs on my bike on the road. But I help other frequently!
My neighbor had a group at his house who all rode GoldWings. They were changing the fluids to include brake and clutch. I showed them my MityVac unit and went from 45-60 minutes per bike to 30 minutes. Guess who bought who dinner!

This place is like going to a hole in the wall bar. Everyone is there for a common reason, but the conversations can be all over the place. You got the loud mouth know it all's, the quiet observers, and the handful that actually know something, but only speak when spoken to. There's a scuffle from time to time, someone gets thrown out, but later let back in. The bouncers are just there for a payday and only enforce the rules when their really forced to. The owners are absent and don't care what happens as long as the cash flow keeps coming. I dunno, maybe I'm off base...
