these work well, are inexpensive, and you can soak one, and put the other is a ziplock bag of water.......when one dries out, swap it with the one in the ziplock......rinse and repeat as needed....
That's a good idea. Or....What i have done, is wear one, when it dries out, I pour a water bottle on it. Start at shoulders, go around neck, pour slowly or else it runs down your crack... continue to pour down both sleeves.
Get on bike and go.

I wear long sleeve "fishing" shirts over a T-shirt. (Columbia, etc) Or arm sleeves with T-shirt. I also have "fishing" gloves that I wear when riding long distance in sun. All have SPF 40-50 protection.

Are you looking for wind/bug protection or crash protection? Many times I just wear my old long sleeve collared dress shirts that are light colored. Sleeves are about an inch shorter than I desire, but I already own them and no longer wear suit and tie for work.

I love the looks I get wearing my lovely pink shirt. Have a couple of Pink Panther ties to go with it! LOL

The mesh jackets are for hot weather riding with some crash protection. Harley and other have them. The Joe Rocket mesh held up well for a friend that "crash tested" his. I consider my HD mesh jacket a disposable, one time use, item. Have not "tested" in a long time.

Cheap, white dress shirts from Walmart, one or so size bigger than I need, so the air moves through it.

Either or, I like the idea of the built in protection, however; it's not a deal breaker as I can always add some under armor (Not the brand), normally its jeans and a tee shirt, however; the older I get the more I am leading towards some protection.

If you want protection with good airflow, it is hard to beat KLIM mesh jackets. A little on the expensive side but I have had mine for 5 years (40,000 miles) now and it does not show any wear. I just wear a light tee-shirt under it.
