I like it, if nothing else it's at least different than what's been out for years. And this coming from a guy who runs traditional CF front fender

I was at a car show a couple weeks back and I saw multiple cars using it. Pony cars and exotics.

Not sure what they are being used for,but just hot my first pair of carbon fiber safety toes

So probably strong, maybe cheap. Though maybe they need to shed some weight with all the stuff they are adding bikes are getting heavy

not a huge fan of it, if they're going to use CF, I'd prefer it be normal CF

for trim pieces which include fenders then the forged method is just fine as its not structural. layering sheets or encasing aluminum within is only needed when strength is required.

Form vs function.
Formwise forged could look cheap or could look gorgeous.
Functionwise forged is still strong and lightweight.
As I recall, Lamborghini (yep the car) and Boeing (yep Boeing Airplane) worked with a Washington State University to develop forged CF.

FWIW If the forged price is lower than visable stranded CF or even aluminum, well, paint over it and utilize its function
.

I am not sure you want to go flimsy though. Just so it will hold up. Some told me they went to lighter steal and just rolled the edges to make it seem stiffer. Cheaper.

.
Carbon Fiber on an over 800 lb bike falls into "lipstick on a pig" category.

I prefer the metal parts on grand tourer...

Is the metal any strong though? Those are the questions you have to ask. Safety toes are carbon fiber now. It would depend on part obviously. I am not against the idea of trying shave weight on these new heavy bikes. You keep adding equipment.

I'll entertain idea of using them. Don't rust.

Why has no one show a picture of this? Even a search shows nothing.
