Going to do the 1000 mile check up. I was going to use amsoil 20w 50 for my oil change. Was wondering if anyone has anyone has used amsoil? Also would you use this in inner primary & transmission also? In the past i have used syn3 but looking at results for amsoil & i looked in the oil section & went thru all of the posts. Can not post any new posts there.
The older I get, I get what ever is on sale.
The last time I got oil, I got 6 Gal of Lucas Synthetic oil on sale at summit, equates to $5.40 a quart. Should last me a while.

That is the exact reason Harley has been sued numerous times. Falsely claiming that you must have maintenance performed by them or warranty is void.

Yes, in fact you can even do the maintenance yourself, provided you keep dated receipts for the products you used. And they don't have to be Harley branded products either.
For all my new Harley purchases I negotiated a no-charge first service into the deal. I let them do the first one; after that it's either an independent shop or myself that does the service.

I bought mine at suburban and it was never came up when I had all my problems.
When buying a sled once they tried saying I needed to buy there oil, I said that is illegal, she frowned. I never had a warranty claim. But when something fails on a young bike, it aint from what oil you used.
