The rats and sidewinders exist at every job.
My experience is they can't do as much damage, or be fatal to other's employment with strong Union protection.
Culture of shortcuts, flaky lies, denial of meal time, work breaks, unfair assignment of overtime common in private business.

Bottom line is they cut jobs so that it will help the 2nd quarter reports, so the stock doesn't crash. The 150 jobs cut so far are just the beginning and they all came from what HD calls PDC facility (Product Development Center). They cut from everywhere top to bottom, the SE division is now moved under the OEM side and the heads of it (SE) got axed along with a few worker jobs. The bottom line is all the jobs at PDC are most likely to be $90,000 and up per year paid jobs. If you round that out to just $100K average pay per worker cut, that's a pretty big deal. Now, if only Puma Boy would match that amount by reducing his salary the same amount, there might be just a little good will at the company, but I would not hold my breath on that happening. He takes more per year out than the total saved by these cuts and is a big hurt to the company in more ways than just his crazy salary, all while driving the company down the **** hole. The production plant at York typically only closes for two weeks and that time is to retool the plant for the next model year production. If they really close for 8 additional weeks thats another big mess, as the workers are not going to feel much like they are getting taken care of when Puma Boy continues to draw well over 25 million dollars in salary each year, plus bonuses for the stock price staying up.

Funny, very few of us are in the industry, but we all know what Harley should do, but another CEO from outside the industry does not.
Wonder what they would say if was from Honda.
If average pay is $100 add benefits and 401k. Though not sure it really matters.
