If you want one, have one. I don't need one... however...
I was on a ride with a group last weekend. It rained a bit. One guy was on a Breakout with the wide rear tire and short fender. Nobody wanted to ride behind him.

Just curious, did the Breakout fender protect the rider from the rain spray?

As for the mud flaps, I am not a fan. Some bike styles look good with leather accessories all over them, just not my thing. Looking at the OP’s first picture he must ride in the mud from the looks of the tailpipes.

I am not the guy you asked this question to but am wondering that myself.

My Brother has a 2023 Breakout but won’t ride if there is a 20% chance of rain so I am not sure.

He and my other brother have garage queens. Must be 60 degrees plus and no chance of rain for them to think about riding.

I have a 2018 Heritage and never get rain splashed on my back with the large rear fender.
