Yeah, if I have to watch where I walk on a sidewalk to avoid stepping in a steamer, I am probably not going to visit there.

Some more local info on the closure, assuming that it is reasonably accurate it sounds like things went to hell management wise after the founding Perkins family sold to the new owners...

This article provides much better details, highlighting another family-run business that was sold to a group that did not prioritize customers or employees. It also reveals the extent of theft and the lack of response from the new management regarding HR issues.

This is a sad situation for the community and those who were abruptly let go.

Mission District is listed as one of the places to avoid due to theft and vandalism..
SF Dealership is sitting in a large chunk of land in the middle of SF. Property is worth more than motorcycle sales and services. And putting up with the theft and vandalism.
Owners have a profitable dealership 80 miles away in your area.

I live 20 miles south of San Francisco and have not been to the City in 15 years or more. Between parking, car break-ins, and the homeless everywhere, there is nothing in SF I need to see having to endure the street zombies and lack of parking. Heck I won't even go to a Giants game anymore. Sad state of affairs for a once beautiful City.

Roe used to work at the PG&E building on Market downtown, we had friends in the city, I'd hop bart and making a night of it was fun. Fast forward 20 yrs everybody we knew has moved out, the fun spots and great food places we liked are gone. Then there's smelling the **** getting off the train before making the climb to street level. I quit driving or riding there long ago. Shame, the city was a great playground in the early 90's

Look at all the democrat run cities: New York, Oakland, San Francisco, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Denver.

They all suck. High crime, dirty streets, drugs, neglected infrastructure, high taxes, poor schools, anti business, sanctuary cities, mismanagement. Since these loser mayors keep getting re elected, living with squalor and incompetence must be what the citizens want.
