Why the hell?

Why the hell?
would Harley put Torx bolts in the damn calipers? Why couldn't they be simple and just put a 1/2" bolt in there and be done? I'm trying to get my rear caliper off right now to change the brake pads and the head of the damn bolt is just about rounded out inside[:@]. It feels like it's never been taken off.[>:] I stripped a ratchet out on it, waiting on a bud to get here now with another..i'm afraid i'll just end up rounding the damn thing on off though. ...any ideas?

RE: Why the hell?
GM did the same thing 25 years ago on theFWD sh&tboxes
Replacement bolts became hex or allen
Bottom line the manufacturer wants you to bring it back to them they figure the majority dont have the tools or wont buy them

I had to clamp onto some trox bolts with a pair of vice-grips to get them off, after striping the head. Try wrapping a rag around the head and use vice grips to get them loose then use the ratchet.
