Talking I've made the decision to upgrade

After my highside last Friday I've been doing a lot of thinking about getting a bike with RDRS. I've decided I no longer want to take the risks associated with not having RDRS and will upgrade my 2014 FLHTK next year when the upgraded model comes out (I am assuming the trickle down changes done on the street and road glide will be done then).
I plan to repair my current bike and ride it for the rest of the year, taking the bus to work when it rains, however.
I plan to trade her in in the new year on a brand new 2025 FLHTK with RDRS for safety reasons.

I am really not sure what Harley was thinking keeping the Limited models as they are. All that is really missing were the lowers as Harley made a strong push with kitted out upgrade sets that included the trunks. Its not like they don't have a supply of lowers without cooling built in so I guess what we are all waiting on is a new style to those lowers? About the only reason I could say its worth waiting to see what they do is that usually it cost less as a whole when Harley ships it all together from the factory. Hopefully the Limiteds get a two tone color treatment to further set them apart.

I'm hoping the 2025 FLHTK ultra LImited models will have the upgraded fairing like the 2024 Street and road glides. I'm also gambling on the possibility they might hike the engine capacity to 117ci in the new year as well....

I am all for more safety gizmos.

You need to learn to ride in rain and not count on this.

After a summer of riding maybe you will get your confidence back, which is all that you are trying to do with new bike.

I was not there but everything seems an over reaction, right down to going to the hospital.

You might need to just relax

As Harleys get faster, we all may need to pay more attention to riding in rain.

Plus you really want to trust Harleys electronics to save your life? I wouldnt trust them to build an anvil

Its not my preference. I was coming home today and started to rain, and I was thinking watch my smart *** will have an accident. It was in the forecast and radar showed it. Beautiful morning.

If you ride, you are going to get wet. I think it is more important for this guy to learn or gain confidence. If he doesn't he is going to get hurt riding to fast with a false confidence, or just not enjoy his bike.

I am not against safety devices.

Not that it matters, I am not sure he had a highside either. Again I was not there.
